Hello fellow travelers, It's S@ndy here with you today to make a slimline card. These cards are all the rage at the moment so thought I would share one with you.
This card has all the aged, tattered qualities that we love. The woodgrain paper is actually called Worn Wood. This card measures 9" X 3.75' and fits in a legal size envelope.
The inside is very simple, I added some Distress Oxide Ink, ground espresso, around the edges of the panel and then added some die cut words. If you are interested in seeing the products I used please visit me at my blog here. I have provided links to everything I used.
Distress Oxide Ink, candied apple and fired brick, was added to white paper. To add the color I used a color blender and a heavy hand, placing lots of ink on the paper. The postman just delivered some new dies today so I couldn't wait to use them. This one is the Floral 1 from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
Once the flowers were cut out - they were edged with some ground espresso Oxide Distress Ink.
I shaped the peddles with a flower making tool and then stacked them making sure that the peddles were staggered. I used some prills ( you could use small seed beads) in the center of each flower and then gently lifted each pedal.
A panel for the front was cut that measures 3.5" X 8.75", inked the edges with ground espresso Distress Ink and attached it to the card base.
This beautiful ornate die cut was added to the front of the card before adding the flowers. I like to add the flower by placing glue only the center so the edges are loose. That way the leaves can easily be added under the flower edges.
Leaves were cut out and edged with a darker green.
The leaves were added by putting a small dot of glue near the top of the leaf and placed around the flowers just under the edges.
The words "Thinking of You" were added to the inside panel and then "Hugs" on the front.
Have a creative weekend,
S@ndy
