Watercolour!

Hello Everyone and Welcome

Amanda here and its my pleasure to be your host for our new Challenge here at A Vintage Journey. The chosen theme this time is
'Watercolour'
'There is so much versatility in watercolour making it possible to create art that can be gentle, washy and light or bold, full of colour and with definite lines and it comes in a variety of guises:pans, tubes, sticks, inks, markers, crayons. So for this challenge we would like your projects to include some form of watercolouring and/or watercolouring techniques and be in keeping with our favoured styles: vintage; shabby; mixed media; art journalling; industrial, timeworn or steampunk.'

Our generous Sponsor is Craft Obsessions who are offering the randomly chosen winner a £20 Gift Voucher tto spend in their store.

There will also be three Pinworthy Winners chosen by the Creative Guides who will receive a Pinworthy badge for their blog and an invite to be a Guest Designer here at A Vintage Journey for a future challenge.

So lets take a look at the gallery of Watercolour projects created by some of our super talented Creative Guides.

Amanda
I saw this challenge as a golden opportunity to revisit my arty roots and rekindle my much neglected love of drawing and painting. So I dug out my my watercolour paints and brushes of yesteryear and combined them with some of my modern day crafty mediums/supplies to create a contemporary watercolour painting with a mixed media twist. There are more details over on my blog if you fancy popping by.

Alison

I've been playing with watercolours - just two of them - in a mixed media way to create these two tiny watercolour houses. Come and find out which two colours have taken me out of my blue/brown zone into the sunshine of pinks and oranges. You'll find all the details over at Words and Pictures.

Sara Emily

I've always wanted to try watercoloring on a vintage book page, and this challenge was just what I needed to get out one of my old books and watercolors! If you would like to see details, please visit my blog.

Astrid

Creating another page for my watercolour journal was an obvious choice for Amanda's wonderful theme. For this page I combined watercolours, Distress Oxides and Distress Inks the create. If you want to see a quick step out, please head over to my blog

Autumn

Watercolour is one of my favourite medium, but I decided to try something a little 'out of the box' this time and created this one page wonder album with graphic prints and journaling.
Find the full tutorial on my blog.

Anne

Amanda's challenge gave me a much needed push to get out my watercolour inks, my new watery wash stamps and lots of painty washes to create an underwater scene in a recessed frame. You can see more on my blog.

I think you will agree our Creative Guides have worked wonders with their watercolours, creating some fabulous projects offering a wealth of inspiration.
Hope you will join us in our 'Watercolour' challenge.
We always look forward to seeing what you create and appreciate each and everyone of your entries
The challenge begins today and runs through August finishing on 31st 2017.
Happy Crafting
Amanda
