This is a unique challenge blog where we are inspired by and focus on the Vintage; shabby; mixed-media; art journaling; industrial, timeworn and steampunk genres and encompass the talent, flair, expertise and ideas of many artists that we are inspired by. We welcome all types of projects - cards, journaling, assemblage, layouts, albums, atcs, altered art in fact whatever you want to share (as long as it is in good taste).

Pairs, Trios and Sets

Hi everybody ! It's Toni here and I'm delighted to host our November challenge. The theme this month is 'Pairs, Trios and Sets'.  We would like you to create a set that works together. It could be ATCs, tags, triptychs, or any other grouping. Just remember to create your project in one of our preferred styles: vintage, shabby, mixed media, art journaling, industrial, timeworn or steampunk. I think  you'll agree that there is something for everyone with this fabulous, new challenge !

I've made a trio of vintage style, shaker decorations. I've used  Tim's Paper Dolls and some of  his  gorgeous Christmas papers, hoarded away from last year! I'll be back in a couple of weeks, with a tutorial, detailing, how to make one of these.

Winter Deer Triptych - Deb Riddell Designs

For Toni's November challenge, I decided to create this winter themed deer silhouette triptych, pop on over to my blog for the how to.

Autumn Greetings! I had fun creating this art journal page with its set of pretty autumnal tags and a faux bark background to display them on. To see how everything came together and a list of materials, please pop over to my blog Let's Art Journal.

I have created a set of three collages for the signatures of a book I am currently making to journal knitting notes. I realised I had been knitting since the age of six so my three signatures reflect the passing of that time as a knitter. Do join me over on Live The Dream for more details of these little collages and the book they will decorate.

This is definitely a challenge after my own heart - I create in pairs, trios and sets more often than not, so I had a wonderful time making this autumnal leafy trio, counting down the moments before I put my dreams and thoughts into action with my autumn move to a new country and a new way of life.  Come and see more at Words and Pictures.

Fall vibes is a theme I love so much and the last two Facebook Live by Tim Holtz inspired me! I created a pair of bookmarks with autumn colours with the help of a lot of dies, stamps, and stencils! If you want to read how I made this project check out my Blog Yayascrap & more.

This challenge seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to make a start creating some Christmas cards. So armed with paints, gel plate, brayer, stamps and embossing powder the festive mixed media creativity began.  To  see and read more please feel free to stop by my blog, ink-a-pink

I think you'll agree with me, that The Creative Guides have once again, excelled themselves with a fabulous array of inspirational projects. Please hop over to their individual blogs to see the projects in more detail. Either follow the links, or just click on a Creative Guides name, to be transported to their blog. Of course, we would like nothing better, than to see your take on the challenge. You have until 6.30pm GMT, on the 3rd of December to upload your project. Happy crafting!
