Winter Wonderland

Hi Vintage Journey Travelers,

It's S@ndy with you today as your guide for a new adventure - the theme is "Winter Wonderland".
The Creative guides have some fabulous art to share with you - they were given this description to work with:

For the month of December let's think of the season as well as the holiday with Winter Wonderland.  As the song goes, sleigh bells ring, snow is glistening! Let's see some snow, snowmen, bare trees would be nice or some snow covered pines in the meadow.  Whatever Winter Wonderland means to you in your vintage, shabby, mixed media; art journaling; industrial or steampunk style.

Our generous sponsor this month is:

http://www.andyskinnercrafts.com/
Andy is in the process of designing some new kits for his workshops next year and someone will be the lucky recipient of one of these but at the moment they are all hush-hush.

So let's take a look at what is being shared from the Creative Guides for this challenge.

S@ndy

For my project this month I embraced the great outdoors and the beauty of nature.
Please come by my blog for more details on how I used a piece of packaging to get started.

Deb

For Sandy's Winter Wonderland challenge I decided to make a mixed media assemblage celebrating the season with snow covered trees, icicles and snowflakes, cool wintery colours and some sparkle and shine to mimic the dance of sunshine and moonlight on snow covered fields.  I have some step out photos on my blog, hope you can pop on by for my how to.

Astrid

I made a reverse canvas for Sandy's wonderful theme this month and had great fun playing with crackle - and texture paste and some seasonal Calico Craft Parts. Do hop over to my blog if you would like to see a quick step out of how this came together.

Jennie

There are times here in the north when it feels as though one is living in a sepia photograph and I had this in mind when creating this little Tim Holtz style Vignette box. I used Tim Holtz ephemera and a Poinsettia made using Tim's Tattered Poinsettia die to create this little winter wonderland scene.  Do hop on over to my blog if you would like to see more.

Autumn

My winter wonderland scene is filled with my favorite elements and techniques, bursting the edges of a 12x16" reverse canvas.  I was determined to stretch my products to new dimension and make a panel large enough to grace the fireplace mantle.  I hope you'll pay my blog a visit for all the snowy, crackled details.

I've been loving making easel and stand up cards this year and have Di at Tando Creative cutting me boards to the exact size I want to use for selling in my rented shop space. This one came about because I made some Christmas cards called 'Snowflake Tinsel' last year and with too many deadlines and personal time needed at the moment I copied my own steps to create this one adding the backing to change it up and to fit the board. I hope you'll join me at Bumblebees and Butterflies to see a few more photos.

Alison

I'm a last minute addition to the roll call here this month, but I've finally managed to get started on my Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas and it so happened that Tag 1 was a perfect fit for S@ndy's Winter Wonderland theme.  So here I am!  I hope you'll be able to hop over to Words and Pictures to check out all the details.

For Sandy's challenge I have constructed and altered a Kaisercraft advent calender creating a 'Snowy Winter Wonderland' scene in the central window box. Why not wrap up warm and head on over to my blog for more details.

I just love Christmas and was so thrilled to see Sandy chose Winter Wonderland as I was able to fit in most of my new dies and stamps. I just wish you could see the amazing sparkle from the Snowtex and on the snowman hat as well as the roof of the cottage. To see more details please hop over to my blog HERE

I'm sure you have been inspired by these wonderful examples from the Creative Guides above.  We are looking forward to seeing your "Winter Wonderland" creations!  You could be selected as one of our Pinworthies and, of course, one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a wonderful prize  from the talented Andy Skinner.  Good Luck everyone!
